Would removing a thermostat be advisable. I have a number of REOs from 1929 to 1935. A number of them run quite hot, despite the fact the radiators have been cleaned and the water jacket area behind the covers as well. I NEVER drive my cars in the winter, only between April and Sept. Would removing the thermostats make them run cooler? Intuitively that would seem to be the case, but I have heard the opposite as well, although with no explanation as to why. Do any of you have any knowledge or recommendation regarding this? If so please speak up and explain why. Thanks, Carl Eidsness, [email protected]
